Accode is a security service that utilises the convenience of the mobile phone to pre-authenticate users accessing their corporate network or portals.
The service uses a dedicated security application on the mobile handset to deliver a ‘one time passcode', removing the requirement for inconvenient and expensive hardware tokens and dongles.

Based on the technology developed by the Monitise group, who engineered the world's first mobile banking ecosystems which allows customers to perform banking and payment transactions directly from their mobile handset. Their technology is live and established within organisations such as VocaLink, Metavante, BT Global Services, T-Systems, HSBC, first direct, Alliance & Leicester, Royal Bank of Scotland, NatWest, Vodafone, Orange, O2, T-Mobile and Hutchison 3G.
Accode delivers on the potential of the mobile handset as a security tool to help organisations to operate more effectively. User trials have confirmed that it reduces cost of ownership by 50%, plus available as a fully managed solution by Mobile Managed Services (the mobility division of Data Select, owned by Peter Jones of BBC TV's Dragons' Den fame) it ensures that there is a further reduction in administration efforts.
The service is always available through both ‘online' and ‘offline' capability, allowing it to work even in areas with no network coverage. Crucially for organisations with a remote workforce, the service can be provisioned over the air in seconds.
